Tonisity’s R&D Team Visits Teagasc – Cork, Ireland

November 2, 2018, 8:40 pm

This month Ava and Stefan from Tonisity visited the Moorepark Research Centre. The centre belongs to Teagasc, the Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority and employs about 500 people.

During this trip, they met with the Pig Development Department who operate a pig research farm of 200 sows, designed for nutritional/porcine health research. The outcome was that the Pig Department is now open to a collaboration with Tonisity and are interested in supporting Tonisity with our research. The meeting was followed by a farm visit and we agreed that a pig trial could be scheduled for early 2019. We also met with the CEO and General Manager of Moorepark Technology Limited.

Moorepark Technology Limited is a provider of pilot/commercial ingredient development facilities and consultancy. We visited the pilot plants and obtained agreement of support with Tonisity formulation optimization if required.

Overall, the visit was a success, with opportunities for Tonisity to get research and ingredient development support from a reputable player in the Irish animal science and ingredient fields.
